Job Description

The Facility Planner serves as a key figure in optimizing the use of an organization's physical spaces, ensuring they are both effective and efficient. Building and maintaining strong relationships with various business units and a diverse range of stakeholders to align organizational goals is key. By partnering with leadership, they develop strategic plans to reorganize groups, optimizing spaces to address the specific needs of different business units. Essential to the role is the enforcement of design standards, which ensures a consistent and functional environment across the organization. Reviews and manages service requests for renovations, handling projects from minor upgrades to large-scale transformations. Leading front-end planning efforts, the planner identifies space requirements early on and sets the scope. This proactive approach ensures that projects align with business objectives and are executed smoothly.

Responsibilities:

  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships through proactive communication and collaboration, aligning goals with company values while maintaining transparency and recognizing contributions.
  • Gather and analyze data on space utilization, occupancy, and facility conditions to support informed strategic planning and initiatives. Understand data requirements by collaborating with the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) team to establish clear data quality standards and objectives. Understand what data is critical, the desired format, and any benchmarks for accuracy and completeness.
  • Optimize space, resources, and infrastructure to enhance efficiency, functionality, and cost-effectiveness within the organization.
  • Assess current and future space needs by analyzing organizational growth and operational demands to inform facility requirements.
  • Perform feasibility studies on space usage, suggesting improvements to maximize efficiency while collaborating with stakeholders to align facility planning with business objectives.
  • Strategically plan and manage space utilization, considering varying business needs to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Work closely with the design team to develop floor plan options and collaborate with the project management team to produce accurate cost estimates.
  • Develop comprehensive relocation plans for offices or facilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, timelines, and strategic objectives.
  • Utilize facility management software to monitor space utilization and manage service requests, providing timely and accurate project updates to stakeholders regarding status, milestones, risks, and changes.
  • Implement facility planning policies, procedures, and standards that ensure compliance with regulations and organizational values, while advocating change management initiatives to support workplace efficiency and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preferred field in Facility Management, Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in space planning, facility management, or project management.
  • Knowledge of building codes, ADA, safety regulations, and sustainability practices, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management), or similar space management program knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, including advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Willingness to travel requirement of 20% locally and domestically.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record and a valid driver's license.
